Kristy Wittman Howell
Associate Director of Community Engagement, Experienced STEM Workshop Presenter, Historian and Community Organizer at UNCG
Title: “STEM for Sustainability and Equity: Curricular Approaches”
Location: Wednesday, October 30 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm in Room 120 NIB.
In “STEM for Sustainability and Equity: Curricular Approaches”, Kristy will walk us through introductory principles useful for enhancing science courses with concepts from both sustainability and equity. Participants will ideally have at least one course concept or unit where you might like to incorporate an interdisciplinary conversation around these concepts. During the workshop, you will become more familiar with the concepts of sustainability and equity and increase your understanding of and capacity for interdisciplinary conversations in the STEM classroom. While doing so, you will begin to develop a pedagogical tool for use in one or more classes that focuses on the intersection of your discipline and concepts of RESJ.
The Italian Buffet Lunch will be open to everyone, but registration is required at this link.
